Summary:The Center for Financial Services Innovation released a statement in response to the Consumers Union's Report entitled, "Prepaid Cards: Second-Tier Bank Account Substitute". In it, CFSI addresses some of the reasons why prepaid cards are particularly well-suited to the needs of underbanked consumers, as well as offering evidence from its own research suggesting that while there are variety of fee price points currently available in the marketplace, the largest card providers are also some of the lower-cost providers.
